Monthly Calendar Special Events Devotions

Sunday School and Children’s Ministry at Abundant Life
Children are an important part of the community. We welcome them in worship and encourage them to participate in various ways in the services.

Between September and May Sunday school classes are offered for children in pre-school (age 3) through Grade 6. Once a month or so, we have an intergenerational service with no classes.

We usually have a special start-up day in September and a wind-up before the summer holidays.

We are currently using Augsburg’s Witness curriculum for Pre-K and 1-3 classes and the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum for the 4-6 class. We have teams of teachers and helpers working with each of the classes.

Children join us in worship and, during Sunday school season after “Children’s Time,” they go to their church school classes, returning later in the service for Communion. (At ALL we practice Communion of the Baptized).

Students entering Grade 3 receive a Children’s Bible in the Fall.

Students entering Grade 5 are invited to participate in ALL’s Longer and Later Confirmation Program. See the Confirmation link for information on the rest of the program.

The Sunday school children are a big part of our annual inter-generational Advent/Christmas program, usually during worship, usually on the 4th Sunday of Advent.

These days, Sunday school offerings are designated for “Kids Helping Kids” a program that works with orphans in our companion Synod, the Lutheran Church in Cameroon.
